Position Summary:
Reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach with various aspects of the varsity basketball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, scheduling, camps/clinics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant women’s basketball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant women’s basketball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program’s philosophies and the athletic department’s core values.

Intercollegiate Athletics

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
Recruiting Coordinator: In charge of all aspects of recruiting including developing and implementing the recruiting strategy.
Responsible for all paperwork with official/unofficial visits, NCAA Eligibility Center, and maintenance of recruiting database.
Academic Coordinator: In charge of grade checks, class checks, study hall and monitoring of tutors.
Freshman/Transfer Matriculation: Liaison with MSU Denver Admissions, The Regency, and NCAA Eligibility Center to facilitate new student-athlete transition to MSU Denver.
Fall League Director: In charge of all aspects of MSU Denver Women’s Basketball Fall League.
Position Coach: Development of either Posts, Forwards, and Guards. Individual on court workouts and film workouts.
Scouting: Scout ½ of regular season games. Edited film copy and hard copy for players and staff.
Practice Player Director: In charge of finding and coaching practice player scout team.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Previous coaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
College coaching experience
Knowledge of NCAA Rules
Must possess computer literacy.
Salary for Announcement
Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $50,000- $56,000 .
This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
