The Opportunity:
The UCF Student Success and Well-Being Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA) is currently accepting applications for a full-time Academic Advisor I. ASSA is a unit of Student Success & Well-being (SSWB), which provides academic support for student-athletes. Individuals interested in this position would have the opportunity to work with a highly competitive program, participate in trainings, and receive full-time experience to sharpen your skills as an athletic academic advisor.
The position is for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters, and will be working with Olympic Sports.
Responsibilities:
Meet with assigned students weekly.
Assist with academic progress monitoring and planning.
Assist students with academic skill development.
Assist advisors with daily tasks such as compiling reports (study hall, grades, eligibility, class schedules, class checking report).
Assist with recruiting.
Monitor team study halls.
Class checking.
Participate in bi-weekly trainings relevant to academic advising and learning specialist responsibilities.
Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree or pursuing a master's degree beginning Summer 2025 or Fall 2025.
2+ years of experience working with student-athletes.
Mentoring and Advising experience.
Preference working with at-risk student-athletes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multi-task and problem-solve successfully.
