Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) is part of the Division of Student Affairs, and reports directly to the Chief of Staff for the President in close collaboration with Athletics. The mission of Student-Athlete Support Services is to help student-athletes become independent and self-reliant learners. In an environment that promotes student development, the staff provides support for all student-athletes from the time they arrive on campus for a recruiting visit until they graduate. The staff provides resources, experience and knowledge empowering each student-athlete to reach his/her academic and personal potential. The programs offered by SASS include academic support, personal and career development, and leadership and outreach opportunities.
Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins, a city of 161,000. Located 65 miles north of Denver, the city is nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and alongside the banks of the Cache La Poudre River. Fort Collins offers the convenience of a small town with the amenities of a larger city including a strong public school system, various recreational opportunities, cultural offerings, and dining venues. Residents experience a moderate 4-season climate with an average of 300 days of sunshine a year.

• Assisting students navigate available resources and academic tools such library databases and how to meet academic standards for AI use.
• Work withing NCAA restrictions regarding academic support and extra benefits (training provided)
• May be asked to lead workshop sessions for incoming first-year student-athletes
• Experience working one on one and with small groups to provide academic instructional support
• Ability to provide creative solutions when working with students who have low academic confidence and/or learning disabilities
• Understanding of how to provide academic support to college level students
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working with NCAA Division I student-athletes providing academic support
