This position provides academic advising and counseling to student-athletes in various academic majors. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable NCAA, university, and ASUN guidelines.
Final title and salary grade level of position is commensurate with the successful applicant’s education and experience relative. Bachelor’s degree only – Academic Support Specialist title with salary grade of 512; Master’s degree – Academic Advisor title with salary grade of 511.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of applicable NCAA, university, and ASUN guidelines;
- Ability to work with diverse groups of student-athletes, coaches, staff, faculty, administrators, parents, and visitors;
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files;
- Ability to attend recruiting functions, various events, and meetings which may include some evenings/weekends;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Regular and prompt attendance;
- Knowledge of and the ability to analyze and interpret the NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) information for designated teams/programs;
- Overall knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
