The Assistant Athletic Director / Marketing & Fan Development supports the Virginia Tech Athletics Brand Advancement team by overseeing the implementation and management of marketing strategies to drive attendance, promotion, and engagement of athletic events, as well as increase the overall visibility of Virginia Tech Athletics. Duties will include but are not limited to development and implementation of marketing plans, fan experience and development strategy and overall enhancement of fan engagement with Virginia Tech Athletics. In addition, will provide leadership and professional development of the Marketing & Fan Development department and work collaboratively with internal units including but not limited to In-Venue Experience, Ticket Sales, Digital Strategy & Innovation and Creative. Reports to the Senior Associate AD / Brand Advancement.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree and/or bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field with significant professional experience
Experience working in a marketing and fan development atmosphere
Experience developing written marketing plans; taking marketing plans from ideation through execution
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions; strong organizational, planning and time management skills
Commitment to diversity
Knowledge of appropriate NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations as it pertains to area of responsibility
