Position Summary  

This position will coordinate broadcast media relations/communication and manage sports network public relations aspect of the athletics program. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities   The results you will deliver each day that matter most!

Public Broadcast streaming -60%

Manage all publicity and public relations for Livingstone College Athletics program, including developing strategies, advising coaches and administrators.

Co-Coordinate all athletic media events including press conferences, media day and set up broadcast procedures for media coverage of game operations.

Coordinate student staff, and contracted sports broadcast staff for each game production.

Crisis Communication 5%

Handle any Athletics crisis communication with the Senior Associate AD for External Affairs in conjunction with the Athletics Director and College Media representative.

Promotional & Fan Engagement-10% 

Coordinate with leaders in the External Area to create opportunities to promote Livingstone Athletics to the media, fans and community using new media and traditional methods.

Radio and TV Network-15% 

Produce radio/video with the college’s multimedia partners, including weekly shows on different sports.

Social Media-10%

Oversee editorial content (written and video) with Livingstone athletics social media efforts at game time.

 

 

 

 

 

Education/ Experience   What you will need to be successful!

 

 Bachelor’s degree in journalism, sport communication, sports management, sport marketing, public relations. One year of broadcast production.

• Knowledge of Microsoft office, Adobe In Design, Photoshop, presentation software, video creation and editing software
• Knowledge of media production, including social media platforms and efficiency.
• Knowledge of all department-sponsored sports.
• Skill in time management, organizing work assignments, and responding quickly and effectively to challenges.
• Ability to take and edit photos, write and edit news releases, feature stories, brochures, and reports.
• Other duties as assigned
