Position Summary:

Primary Duties:
Work athletic events, and assist with staff management;
Archiving individual and team statistics;
Archiving all photography;
Available to travel with teams occasionally and work nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
Secondary Duties:
Develop strategies for social media initiatives and athletic department with any other media relations duties;
May also be required to provide radio/television commentaries in the form of interviews, play-by-play work and public address announcing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in communications, journalism or related area of study.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree;
At least three years of experience in content creation, editing, website management, journalism, or related field.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to develop strong relationships with local media outlets;
Content creation, editing, website management;
Experience in writing, editing and designing game stories and game notes;
Experience in stating athletic events;
Proficient writing skills as well as desktop publishing, Adobe Creative Suite and web publishing;
Experience with statistical software (The Automated Scorebook, etc.).
Reports to: Director of Athletics
Hours: nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
