Position Function:
Leadership position with oversight responsibility for the day-to-day human resource operations of the Athletic department. This position will be responsible for developing and delivering integrated and inclusive people strategies through talent and performance management and organization and employee effectiveness, with a goal to deliver solutions and change management plans. This position will integrate all aspects of the employee life cycle for 260+ full-time staff and high volume of part-time, student, and temporary staff, interns, and volunteers in a fast-paced human resources function, to align with the mission and core values of the Athletics Department. This position will be an extension of Human Resources for Mississippi State University and will align systems and processes accordingly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with three (3) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Prior project management experience preferred in collegiate athletics or a related field.
• Ability to respect confidentiality and practice discretion is required.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills required.
• Ability to effectively engage and present to a wide variety of constituents, both internally and externally.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with exceptional listening skills and high emotional intelligence.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Knowledge of customer service principles, techniques, systems, and standards.
• Skill in budget management.
• Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures.
• Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• No or very limited physical effort required.
