The Athletic Department is a vital part of student life and the educational process at Elizabeth City State University. It provides a well-rounded schedule of college athletic competition designed to encourage participation by the student body. The department encourages physical fitness and the development of physical skills and emotional control.
The Sports Information Director reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for all publicity received and sent concerning the Athletic Program.
Must be self-motivated, creative and organized with the ability to direct and perform detailed work with accuracy.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills; possess the ability to interact with diverse groups.
Possess computer proficiency and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites, including InDesign and Photoshop.
Possess the ability to travel with teams and work evening and weekend hours when required.
Possess experience with StatCrew software and website administration.
Knowledge of CIAA/NCAA and University policies and procedures.
Possess leadership and motivational skills.
Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
Possess the ability to lift, carry and set up equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with related experience at an institution of higher learning.
