Columbus State University, a Division II member of the Peach Belt Conference invites applications for the position of Sports Information Director. This position will perform all duties in compliance with all NCAA, Peach Belt Conference, and Columbus State University rules and regulations.
The Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Media and Communications (SID) reports directly to the Athletic Director and is responsible for all aspects of publicizing the 14-NCAA sport athletic program at Columbus State University. The SID is expected to coordinate and form relationships with members of the local media and provide them with an abundance of information regarding CSU athletics. The SID is also responsible for all published communication disseminated from the Athletic Department, especially brochures, media guides, press releases, and all athletic department website information. The SID is also responsible for managing all in-game operations for statistics, scorekeeping, public address, and timing of all athletic events. The SID also assists in all marketing and promotion efforts of the CSU Athletic Department.
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: Provide accurate and up-to-date information to the local media, fans and supporters of Columbus State University on a regular basis.; Edit and update content on the athletic website (csucougars.com) on a regular basis. This includes text, statistics, schedules, and photographs.; Coordinate media at all home athletic events, as well as coordinating all media requests for interviews, photo shoots, feature stores, etc. on a daily basis.; Ensure accurate collection of and dissemination of statistics and records for all sports.; Design, author, edit and disseminate all printed information released by the athletic department. This includes all publications, various letters, press releases, and web content.; Coordinate staffing of all press and statistical operations at home events to include public address, scoreboard, timing, statistics, and some promotional opportunities.; Assist in the overall daily operation of the athletic department, including consultation on computer and electronic issues.; Others duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in a related field
Preferred Qualifications include: Masters degree preferred
The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $49,000 - $51,000 and includes full benefits.
