| Position Summary |
The Assistant Athletic Director for Student Athlete Development is responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of comprehensive programming to support the hoslistic development of student-athletes. This role focuses on enhancing the student-athlete experience by fostering leadership, career readiness, life skills and community engagement.

| Essential Duties |
- Directs Career Development opportunities for student-athletes and serves as a referral resource through collaboration with La Salle’s Career Center. Collaborate with campus and community partners to assist with student-athlete professional and career advising.
- Creates, organizes, executes, evaluates career development programs for all Student-Athletes. Helps prepare student-athletes for participation in Career Fair and other Career Center events.
- Plans and implements training programs to educate student-athletes on how to be effective leaders. Designs and coordinates delivery of leadership professional development. Monitors the quality of leadership development programming by collecting, analyzing and responding to data.
- Manages all aspects of athletic department’s community service and engagement program efforts, including ongoing annual project collaborations with area organizations along with communicating to and recruiting student-athletes to participate. Assists student-athletes with community service project placement by connecting and centralizing all interested parties and populations. Tracks all community service.
- Leads the planning of department-wide student-athletes events such as awards banquets researching/suggesting/selecting topics/speakers for an organizing
- Collaborates with the marketing department to produce marketing to promote all programming and workshops and to disseminate information pertaining to personal development/education and career education.
- Oversees the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee including meetings, activities, and civic engagement activities.
- Spearheads the development of staff/coach training opportunities, workshops, and discussions related to student-athlete, team, and department development and well-being.
- Assists with programming and education from the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force for both student-athletes and staff.
- Fosters relationships between the department and the community through targeted outreach and partnerships.
- Serves on additional campus committees as assigned and represent the Athletic Department at various campus functions and events.

- Assists in development and delivery of staff training sessions covering NCAA. Atlantic 10 and La Salle eligibility rules.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 2 years working in intercollegiate athletics.
- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with a diverse population, strong organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of the importance of developing the student-athlete as a whole person.
- Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment, manage stressful situations and handle multiple tasks at once to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University and successful background check clearances including, but not limited to, a PA Criminal Records Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master’s degree.
- Former student-athlete or intensive understanding of the student-athlete holistic model within college athletes.
- Experience with SAAC and the importance of life after sport.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with coaches, student-athletes, staff, administrators and alumni.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

| Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours |
- Must have flexibility and be able to sustain long work hours including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
- This position may require travel.
