Assist with health care coverage needs of 22 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports teams. California Lutheran University is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and an

institution.
Provide care to all student athletes including prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries. E
Assist in managing the training room: referring injuries to the appropriate medical facilities. E
Monitor pre-existing health conditions of student athletes involved in intercollegiate athletics. E
Provide medical services during games and practices, home and away, throughout the regular school year and vacation periods when necessary. E
Responsible for assisting in communicating to student athletes and coaches the Department’s health insurance policies. E
Provide general athletic room services. E
Perform skills as outlined by the
NATABOC
and
NATA
Educational Council. E
Assist the team physician with preseason physical examinations and weekly treatments. E
Attend athletic department meetings and other university functions as assigned. E
Perform other related administrative and committee duties as assigned. E
E = Essential Duties
Sports medicine and related field for prevention and treatment of injuries.
Body mechanics principles, flexibility and strength training.
Basic elements of pedagogy of Sports Medicine
Goals and objectives of assigned activity.
Operation and use of Sports Medicine equipment.\
Health and safety regulations.
Participate in rigorous physical activities.
Maintain routine records.
Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
Operate, service and make minor repairs on equipment.
Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree and

BOC
certification Current
CPR
and first aid certification, certification teach
CPR
Experience at college or university level.
Valid California driver’s license
Valid First Aid and
CPR
Certificate issued by an authorized agent
Dexterity of hands and fingers to demonstrate and participate in athletic practices; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; standing for extended periods of time; bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching; hearing and speaking to exchange information; carrying, pushing or pulling; lifting heavy objects/individuals required in rehabilitative activities.
Indoor and outdoor work environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work; subject to adverse weather conditions; subject to evening, weekend, nights and holiday work hours and varying working hours
