Job Description
To assist the Athletic Trainer/Sports Medicine staff in providing services, including, but not limited to the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to all student athletes. Will assist with the daily operation of the athletic training room and treatment areas.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates and delivers athletic training services to assigned teams including: prevention, recognition, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries; acute care and emergency response to athletic injuries; rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries; and health care administration for the student-athletes.
Delivers athletic training services to varsity student-athletes, under the direction of the head athletic trainer and team physician, including: prevention, recognition, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries; acute care and emergency response to athletic injuries; rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries; and health care administration for the student-athletes.
Assists with maintaining comprehensive medical records for individual student-athletes, daily injury reports for all athletes, and annual injury report summarizing injuries, treatments, and follow up care. Supervises the clinical experiences of the athletic training students and assist the AT Program Director with other duties related to the Athletic Training Program. Organizes and coordinates the inventory of athletic training equipment and supplies. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates graduate assistant athletic trainers.
Provides coverage of all home and away events as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in athletic training, sports administration, or related field.
No prior experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work under stress.
Ability to comprehend technical aspects of communications equipment.
Communication skills.
Keyboarding skills.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Other Requirements:
Must be able to work beyond normal working hours, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to travel.
