SUMMARY
The employee will work under the supervision of the Director of Athletics and the Head Athletic Trainer. He/she will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in providing education and information in all aspects of the student-athletes health and safety. He/she will also provide injury care, injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, and promote a positive mental wellness environment. Inclusive of this the employee will assist with maintaining accurate and up to date records on all student-athletes, insurance information, injuries, and treatments. Hours are atypical but flexible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervises student workers and Interns within the Athletic Training program.
· Provides care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to student-athletes.
· Communicates with medical community on injuries and treatments.
· Ensures compliance with all University, GAC and NCAA policies.
· Supervises training room in absence of Head Athletic Trainer.
· Provides drug, mental wellness, and physical education for student-athletes.

ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (FUNCTIONS, DUTIES)

3. Relationships with Others: The employee works effectively and relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the University. The employee exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working environment.
4. Safety: Employee works safely, attends safety training offered/required, and follows appropriate safety rules and regulations. In relation to level of NIMs training completed, participates in incident management preparation, and performs incident duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required and Master’s in related field preferred; or Master’s degree in Athletic Training required.
· Certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Training.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an Athletic Training setting preferred.
· Eligible for Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Licensure
· Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED or eligible
