) is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team. This role supports the coordination of athletic training services, ensuring the health and well-being of our student-athletes. From injury prevention and evaluation to rehabilitation and return-to-play management, this position plays a vital role in keeping athletes performing at their best. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about sports medicine and thrives in a team environment. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

Division I institution and competes in The Summit League for all sports except football (Missouri Valley Football Conference), wrestling (Big
XII
Conference), and women’s equestrian (National Collegiate Equestrian Association).

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Coordinate and provide care for sport teams filtered through the main training room in the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex Athletic Training Room (especially sports assigned – track/field and cross country).
Coordinate and follow up with physician clinics.
Assist with scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of athletic training students (
ATS
).
Assist with the administration of services related to the sports medicine program as requested (i.e. day to day operations/cleaning; limited insurance, setting up yearly physicals for student-athletes).
Play an active role in developing goals and objectives of the Athletic Training Education Program, specifically assisting with the design of clinical education and field experience.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Athletic Administration or Sports Science completed by appointment date;
At least one year of experience with intercollegiate athletics or clinical setting (an equivalent combination will be considered);
Effective communication (oral, written, and interpersonal) skills;
BOC
certification for athletic training and
CPR
/First Aid certification or ability to obtain these certificates by employment;
Demonstrated organization and time management skills; and
Demonstrated computer application skills.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or Administration;
At least one year of experience supervising athletic training students;
Division I intercollegiate experience;
Experience providing athletic training services to the sport of track/field and cross country;
Eligible for state license in South Dakota;
Experience with team travel responsibilities;
Experience with supply ordering/monitoring;
Knowledge and/or understanding of medical records following
HIPAA
,
FERPA
and Sportsware; and
Knowledge and/or understanding of medical insurance.
