Description

This position will be required to adhere to the direction of team physicians and the Director(s) of Sports Medicine, performing all duties required as an athletic trainer, including but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation and diagnosis, immediate emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and medical record keeping for athletes. In addition, this position will be required to oversee day-to-day operations, game management responsibilities at assigned games, and other administrative duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for assisting the Head Football Athletic Trainer in evaluating football athletes’ readiness to play, provide participation clearances when warranted, initial assessment of athletes’ injury or illness, provide emergency or continued care, and determine appropriate referrals.
  • Assist the Head Football Athletic Trainer with the care for football athlete’s injuries utilizing therapy equipment/modalities and rehabilitation or treatment techniques.
  • Responsible for evaluating men’s tennis athletes’ readiness to play, provide participation clearances when warranted, planning and implementing a comprehensive rehabilitation and reconditioning plan for athletic injuries and illnesses with the use of appropriate therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation equipment, manual therapy techniques, therapeutic modalities, and/or medications for the women’s basketball/men’s tennis teams.
