The University of South Carolina is looking for an experienced assistant athletic trainer who is committed to providing comprehensive sports medicine services to our student-athletes. This position will work collaboratively with our Athletic Team Physician and Senior Associate Athletics Director/Sports Medicine to carry out methods of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries for student-athletes within their assigned sport. The assistant athletic trainer will follow the policies and procedures for the athletic training staff and facilities as established by the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Sports Medicine.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Certified by the NATA and eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina

Masters degree. Strongly prefer athletic training experience in Division I institution.

Job Duties
| Job Duty |
Carries out methods of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries as established by the Athletic Team Physician and Senior Associate AD/Sports Medicine. Work with the assigned strength and conditioning coach to ensure the proper conditioning of the student-athletes in assigned programs. Provides the Head Coaches of assigned sports teams with daily injury reports regarding status of injured student-athletes. This report shall be submitted weekly, or as appropriate, during the sports teams’ off season.
