Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Provide sports medicine services to varsity student athletes in accordance with the current Michigan State Practice Act for Athletic Trainers.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Degree Area: Athletic Training or a related field

Required Specialized Training/Certifications: BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
Licensed to practice athletic training in the State of Michigan or eligible.
Skilled in injury evaluation and prevention, application of therapeutic modalities and rehabilitative techniques.
Certified in CPR/first aid/AED.

Required Minimum Work Experience: Experience as a certified athletic trainer.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:

Excellent demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Professionalism.
Ability to work in a team-approach health care setting that provides high-quality athletic training services to a diverse patient population.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining professional interpersonal relationships.
Computer literacy with ImPACT software and injury tracking software.
Ability to multi-task.
Proper time management and organizational skills.
Ability to travel as needed which may involve overnight stays that last multiple days.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Athletic training experience at the collegiate setting.
Additional professional certifications.
Experience in Olympic Sports.
