Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Sports Medicine Department is responsible for the preventative care, monitoring, and restoration of student-athlete overall health.
Serves as the primary athletic trainer for assigned teams. Responsible for the care of student-athletes, including prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes under the supervision of a team physician.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Assists in operating the training room
Ensures proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes
Works with Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and the Team Physicians in providing proper evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletically injured student-athletes
Maintains medical records on student-athletes to include physical examinations, insurance information and injury evaluation reports
Attends scheduled team practices and events, including traveling with teams, as assigned
Provides emergency care when indicated
Assists with maintenance of training room equipment
Assists with annual physical examinations and drug testing program.
Assists with preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for training room operations
Interfaces with coaches regarding injured student-athletes
Follows the

Remains current on all state and national requirements for license renewal
Agrees to comply with all University,

bylaws and legislation
Supervises student trainers
Performs other duties as requested by the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.
Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree required.

- NATABOC Certified
- Licensed by NC Board of Athletic Training or eligible for licensure
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills

- Master’s Degree
- Previous experience working with Division I or professional athletes
