Emporia State University currently has a vacant position within our Intercollegiate Athletics department for an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY TRAINING DUTIES:
Provide athletic training services for the intercollegiate athletic programs including home and away team practice and game coverage.
Assist in the management of the operations of the athletic training rooms.
Give guidance to graduate level athletic training students in our accredited athletic training program. Conduct rehabilitation activities for injured student-athletes.
Administer daily evaluations, preventative exercises, emergency care, treatments, and rehabilitative sessions.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
Keep accurate records of athletes' injuries, treatment, and medication. Ensure program records, medical histories, and insurance information is collected and organized.
Serve as a liaison to team physicians, medical specialists, student-athletes, and parents. Manage the flow of information and answer questions.
PUBLIC RELATIONS DUTIES:
Work with physicians, other athletic trainers, and student-athletes to deliver comprehensive athletic training techniques and treatments, ensuring safety and high quality performance.
Collaborate with masters of athletic training program instructors to ensure high-level learning and experiences for athletic training students.
MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES:
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room. Report necessary repairs as needed to ensure the athletic training facility is fully operational.
Perform all other duties assigned by Head Athletic Trainer.
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, and the MIAA is of paramount importance.
The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations.
As a condition of employment, the employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Perform related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree. BOC certification.
Eligible for athletic trainer licensure in Kansas.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to interact with a variety of athletes, coaches, and public in the higher education environment
COMPENSATION:
Salary: $43,500 – $65,000 annually
Qualifications and previous experience will be considered for placement of base rank and salary.
