The University of Texas Permian Basin's Athletics Department welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer

Salary Range

$51,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

 

The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the mission and philosophy of the intercollegiate athletics program at The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB), ensuring compliance with all institutional, NCAA, Lone Star Conference, UT System, and State of Texas rules and regulations. This position provides comprehensive and holistic healthcare to student-athletes, working collaboratively with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, medical personnel, and athletics administration. Key responsibilities include assisting in injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management; coordinating medical referrals and physical exams; and providing coverage for practices, competitions, clinics, and camps. The role also includes administrative duties such as record-keeping, insurance documentation, and statistical tracking. The Assistant Athletic Trainer reports to the Director of Sports Medicine and may be assigned additional duties by the Director or Vice President of Athletics.

  1. Assist the Director of Sports Medicine with injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes.
