The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer in the education, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries incurred by Mercy University intercollegiate athletes.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage and care of teams for practices and games (will involve some travel)
• Work with the Team Physician for the Health Care of the Student Athletes.
• Create and maintain accurate records of athletic injuries and rehabilitation.
• Maintain Athletic Trainer license in the state of New York.
• Maintain NATABOC certification.
• Assist with administrative tasks required for athletic injury insurance claims.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean Athletic Training Room
• Mentor interns from Mercy University’s Exercise Science Program
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well with with fellow trainers, coaches and student athletes.
• Typing skills
• Hands on training in a certified athletic training program Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.???
