Position Summary:
The Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies designed to enhance the Campbell Athletics brand, drive attendance, and foster meaningful engagement with students, fans, alumni, and the broader Campbell community. This position leads all aspects of game day atmosphere, promotions, and fan experience across all 21 Division I collegiate sports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the marketing, promotions, game day programming, and fan experience for home events to enhance the game day atmosphere for fans, donors, students, alumni, and the greater community
Create and implement annual marketing plans for all sports with a focus on increasing fan attendance and elevating the game day experience.
Lead and execute targeted marketing campaigns to engage students, alumni, and the local community
Develop strategies to increase ticket sales, promote events, and support departmental revenue goals.
Coordinate digital marketing efforts, including email, social media, and website campaigns, in collaboration with communications and creative services staff.
Lead the planning and execution of all in-game promotions, music, on-field recognitions, giveaways, and sponsor activations to create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.
Manage run-of-show production for football, basketball, and select Olympic sports
Serve as the primary liaison to cheer, dance, and athletic bands.
Collaborate with facilities, event operations, and external partners to deliver a seamless game day experience.
Develop initiatives and programming aimed at increasing student attendance and spirit, including student rewards programs, tailgates, and student section promotions.
Partner with student organizations, housing, and campus life to integrate athletics into the broader campus culture.
Supervise marketing interns, student workers, and part-time game day staff.
Assist in the development and monitoring of marketing budgets.
Serve as sport administrator as assigned.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and/or Director of Athletics.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree desired
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience at the collegiate level. Experience developing and executing marketing plans and in-game promotions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Suite, and the Internet
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
Uphold, and abide by, Campbell University policies and procedures.
