Job Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director will be responsible for the overall management and daily operations of assigned areas, which includes the supervision and delegation of work assignments.
Additional Department Summary: Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for HR, will provide oversight for all day-to-day human resources operations of the IA HR Office. This position will be creating an alignment of strategy, structure, people, incentives, metrics, and daily practices to improve efficiency and productivity in the Athletics Department. This role will perform an ongoing, systematic, process of driving organizational effectiveness, solution identification, and improve organizational performance while providing human resource guidance, advice and services to IA staff and management. Position will communicate data-driven evaluation of improvements and deficiencies to leadership staff and Human Resources to support long and short-term priorities. Will provide HR guidance and support to departments with regard to both tactical and strategic HR issues to ensure compliance and optimal performance within their teams.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of work experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational psychology/development, human resources or related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience in athletics.
Experience creating tools and metrics to maintain data-driven information for department leadership. Experience handling high level of sensitive employee relations situations with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Skills and Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of skills development and capacity-building strategies. Experience defining and optimizing processes and best practices. Advanced proficiency in office and business administration software. Exceptional interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Excellent leadership and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical and time-management skills. High level of skills in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
