The Executive Director of NIL is responsible for managing internal aspects of NIL, as well as overseeing the NIL educational curriculum for LSU student-athletes. Additionally, this position will work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to manage all operations and business activities in relation to institutional NIL agreements across all varsity sports. The Executive Director of NIL will be responsible for managing and reviewing new and existing NIL contracts to ensure compliance with the state law and NCAA guidelines. Responsibilities include identifying strategic NIL opportunities and implementing opportunities for student-athlete engagement. Additionally, this position will over the Assistant Director(s) of NIL creating and implementing a strong educational platform, content creation space and NIL partnership fulfillment.
40% Work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to successfully create, communicate and implement the vision, mission and overall direction of the NIL management efforts for LSU; Serve as the primary liaison to select sports and applicable third parties; Work in collaboration with LSUSP and Playfly Max to identify and execute NIL partnerships with local, regional and national businesses; Create regularly scheduled meetings with all head coaches to discuss NIL updates/opportunities per team; Provide strategic summaries and plan meetings with key stakeholders;
20% Oversee all educational events and in programming on university campus; Research and benchmark collegiate NIL industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions; Stay updated on the latest NIL trends and best practices, including legislative advancements, NCAA compliance regulations, and vendor landscape evolutions;
15% Work with Playfly Max (or applicable position) to identify NIL opportunities and additional revenue opportunities within NIL; Track and assist with all disclosure requirements per state legislation; Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all completed and ongoing NIL opportunities;
10% Manage and review existing and new NIL contracts to ensure compliance with the state law and NCAA guidelines;
10% Oversee and support virtual and in-person recruiting efforts as permitted by NCAA legislation, including but not limited to, recruiting presentations for all sports, recruiting presentation material, and educational resources;
5% Adapt role to maximize opportunities as a result of evolving changes in NCAA rules and regulations; Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with seven years of related experience; Organizational and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications
Juris Doctorate; Experience in a DI athletic program as a coach or administrator; Knowledge of collegiate athletics, NCAA rules and regulations, and SEC rules and regulations.
Special or Physical Requirements
Ability to work extended days, nights and weekends as needed.
