The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman, male and female, is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.

Summary

The Naval Academy Athletic Association has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Baseball Coach with a primary emphasis on hitting, baserunning, and recruiting.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, daily player skill development, practice coordination, team and small group instruction, participation in prospect camps, throwing batting practice and assisting in nationwide recruiting efforts.  

A proven track record of recruiting experience, demonstration of the ability to cultivate relationships on a nationwide scale, and a positive, professional attitude are essential to this position.  The candidate must also be willing to work within a distinctive environment which demands excellence in all phases of the student-athlete's existence at the Academy. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all policies and regulations of the NAAA.

  • Adheres to all rules, regulations and procedures established by the Academy, Conference and NCAA.

  • Assists the Head Coach in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.

  • Exercises reasonable judgment in sports program and travel expenditures, as applicable.

  • Coordinates and attends all daily training sessions.

  • Attends coaches’ meetings as scheduled.

  • Assists in designing practice plans, game plans, and strategies
