Summary of Job Duties: Responsible for assisting the head coach in the management and administration of an effective and efficient baseball program. The position reports to the Head Baseball Coach.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and previous experience coaching baseball.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of practice and game preparation as directed by head coach
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of game day operations. Coordinate all travel operations.
Manage all administrative duties for the program
Assist in the recruitment of players by identifying and assessing talent, communicating with prospective student athletes. Coordinate with respective departments for on campus visits
Field maintenance duties.
Responsible for academic supervision of players and communication with academic advisor and Faculty Athletic Representative. Assist in academic accountability for student athletes with measurable outcomes available.
Responsible for building good relationships with players, faculty, staff, donors and the community. Monitoring possible disciplinary situations, serving as a liaison between players and head coach
Game film coordinator. Breakdown and analyzation of game/practice for education sessions to head coach and to student athletes
Assist in scheduling practices coordination and coordinating with opposing teams for game day oversight.
Responsible for student athlete development projects. Ex: meetings to invest in the holistic environment for setting student athletes up for success and accountability. Providing resources outside of on the field coaching practice and game day teaching
Oversee and create all social media content for all baseball social media platforms.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:
Knowledge of all aspects of the game of baseball.
Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics, Division II baseball programs, MIAA Conference rules, and NCAA rules and regulations
Successful completion of the NCAA coaches modules
Additional Information:
Working Relationships: Work in a dynamic team of diverse faculty, staff, and students in a fast paced, growth-oriented collegiate environment. Frequent contact required with boosters, personnel from other agencies and institutions and the general public.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an outdoor setting. Frequent travel and extended hours required. Coaches may be called upon to assist with fundraising for the athletic department and to provide staff support to the other sports programs during their respective seasons. Valid driver’s license required.
