Position: Assistant Baseball Coach

Department: Athletics

Status: Full Time

Position Summary:

The Assistant Baseball Coach will have the responsibility of helping the head baseball coach in all aspects of this NCAA Division I baseball program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with recruiting, administration, and on the field instruction of the baseball program and adhering to all university, CAA Conference, and NCAA regulations.
• Ability to effectively evaluate, contact, and recruit potential student athletes.
• Ability to analyze game video; help formulate game and training strategies; and instruct student- athletes on the techniques of baseball.
• Assist in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.
• Organize equipment and create travel arrangements for the baseball program as well as adhere to budget restrictions.
• Assist in promoting, organizing and running baseball camps sponsored and run under a separate LLC.
• Aid in the fundraising efforts undertaken by the Athletic Department and Baseball program.
• Communicate regularly and at times, work closely with, other departments on campus such as academic advising, residence life, admissions, sports information, campus recreation, compliance, athletic training, and strength and conditioning.
• Exemplify the goals, values, and objectives of the program while displaying the highest level of ethical standards and commitment to the overall success of Campbell Athletics.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Uphold and abide by all Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, and Information Security such as HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal guidelines.

• Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned by the Head Baseball Coach or Director of Athletics, at any time, with or without notice. Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• At least 2 years of college coaching experience with proven recruiting at the NCAA Division I level desired

• Experience competing as a NCAA Division I baseball athlete desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to teach the game of baseball at a high level all within a professional setting.

• Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, standard methods of digital communication, and social media platforms

• Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in interactions with university faculty, staff, student athletes, coaches, officials, trainers, all others associated with athletic programs, and the public.

• Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.

• Ability to work evenings/weekends/holiday breaks

• Availability to travel, including overnight stays

• Exercise independent judgment in complex, new and/or stressful situations.
