Position Overview:
The Assistant Cheerleading Coach will work closely with the head cheerleading coach and assist with coordinating all aspects of the team. This may include recruitment, practice organization, game day preparation and performances.
Essential Functions:
· Assists head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, and training.
· Ability to train and instruct tumbling skills.
· Participate in various fundraising, marketing, and promotional activities.
· Assist in organizing and coordinating game day plans with coaches, pep band, game day management, and facilities staff.
· Assist with various program duties such as uniform ordering, scheduling, team activities, alumni events, game day half time performances and other duties as assigned.
· Assist in organizing cheerleading clinics.
· Travel to special events when necessary.
· Attend and oversee the cheer team performing at Duke University Women’s Basketball games and designated neutral-site and post season games.
· Assist with mascot program.

· Ability to work with a diverse population
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
· Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· Experience working with a cheer program at the collegiate level
· A commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, ACC and institutional rules
