Job Description:
Assistant Coach is responsible for the duties associated with a Division I Football program including assisting the Head Coach with the following: prospect evaluation, recruiting, training, coaching, competing successfully, student-athlete academic achievement, student-athlete conduct and welfare, compliance with the Governing Athletics Rules and University Rules, scheduling assistance, and the overall effective performance of the program’s student-athletes.

Job Details:
Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Interstate and intrastate travel is required to include overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
Required Licenses:
Bachelor's degree. Successful experience as an assistant or head football coach at an elite level. Current and working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to project the image of the University of Texas and the Athletics Department with dignity and grace regardless of circumstances and environments. Professional demeanor. Demonstrated success recruiting highly skilled football players; ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and audiences. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enhance interaction with student-athletes, peers, alumni, administrative personnel, and the community.

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
