Duties

  • This position will spend approximately 40% of the time assisting the head coach in instructing and teaching student athletes in fundamentals of sport technique and strategy as well as planning and executing practice and competition plans. Additional responsibilities may include team warm-ups, strength and conditioning, spotting, and meet management. 
  • In addition, they will spend 40% of their time recruiting and evaluating qualified athletes to the University of Minnesota. 
  • The remaining 20% of the time will be devoted to operational duties including but not limited to securing judges for the season, planning and executing team travel, preparing and submitting budget expenses, preparing all recruiting communication, calendar management, as well as working as a liaison with various contacts within the department. 
  • The employer retains the right to change or assign other duties in this position. 

In addition the following are expectations of every member of the gymnastics staff:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, boosters, clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public.
  • Represent the University and its athletic programs in a positive manner.
