Position Summary and Qualifications:
Direct and oversee all video and technology duties and responsibilities associated with the women’s basketball program in a manner designed to optimize the basketball development of student-athletes, the efficiency of the entire program, and the ability to recruit high-level prospective student-athletes. Additionally, manage the recruiting and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, including transfers. Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and coaching on-court skill development programs for student-athletes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and Manage Program Documents
These may include (not are not limited to): on-court strategy documents, recruiting planning documents, and program messaging documents
Assist on-court performance through editing and coding practices and competitions in a manner designed to efficiently optimize student-athlete basketball development; analyze team performance in offensive and defensive sets, and individual student-athlete performance; provide video, analytics and other information related thereto to the coaching staff
Produce videos for recruiting prospective student-athletes, including home visit presentations
Create and utilize a system for managing digital assets related to the program, including photos and videos
Ensure all technology in the locker rooms, practice facility, and arena is properly set up, fully functional, and equipped to support team practices and individual student-athlete workouts and drills
Transfer Portal Recruiting and Evaluation
Gather background information on transfer portal prospects, which includes but is not limited to the following information: Collegiate playing background; Character background check, including social media; Prospect’s personal expectations regarding recruitment, including:
Research prospect’s personal expectations regarding recruitment, including: Desired role; in-game usage; Fit within program’s culture and importance thereof
Create recruiting presentations based on research
Conduct video analysis to evaluate high school and transfer portal prospects
Create streamlined video edits to share with coaching staff that serve as a summation of the prospect’s on-court skill and playing background
Manage recruiting materials from each basketball event
Use event booklets containing each prospect and coach contact information to create a Prospect Database
Graduate Assistant Development
Train graduate assistant coaches to conduct video analysis through various platforms and software, including but not limited to Hudl Sports Code and/or Synergy
Train graduate assistant coaches on the following skills: Various graphic design efforts for recruiting and internal program messaging
Technology Updates, Procurement and Budgeting
Supervise the procurement and management of all technology-related expenses, including software, hardware, and peripherals
Collaborate with IT personnel and vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness
Provide regular strategic analysis and updates to technology; identify opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with the WBB Chief of Staff on all technology-related expenses to ensure technology stays within budget constraints
Coaching and Recruiting
Assist with official and unofficial visit itineraries and execution
Recruiting, per NCAA rules, conduct off-campus evaluations and recruit high school prospective student-athletes
On-court instruction and player development, with specialization and general knowledge of all positions and basketball systems
Analytical processes via the CBB Analytics platform
Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (*candidates without a bachelor’s degree can submit a statement explaining how relevant experience substitutes for the degree)
1-4 years of experience in an Intercollegiate Athletic Department as a student (including a student-athlete), graduate assistant, or employee is preferred
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Detail-oriented, organized and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Must be self-directed and motivated and be able to work independently and work under pressure
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a diverse group of internal and external constituents
Adherence to NCAA and member conference rules and regulations
The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check
The successful candidate may be required to obtain CPR, motor vehicle safety certification, and other job-related certifications
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Occasional need to lift, move and otherwise prepare equipment and facilities in preparation for practice, competition and special events
Position requires frequent evening and weekend hours
