This includes developing a defensive system, recruiting defensive skill positions, and contributing to game plan preparation.

This includes developing a defensive system, recruiting defensive skill positions, and contributing to game plan preparation.
The Assistant Coach will also support academic success, community engagement, and administrative functions, exercising independent judgment in areas such as recruiting, compliance, budget management, and practice planning. Additionally, this role is evaluated on its ability to provide student-athletes with a positive, meaningful, and educational experience through athletics.
Other program-related duties may be assigned by the Head Football Coach.

Coaching
Assist the Head Coach with daily practice planning, game decisions, and player feedback and evaluation.
Conduct video analysis and opponent scouting to enhance game preparation.
Mentor student-athletes in academic progress, course selection, campus involvement, and community engagement to support their overall college experience.
Recruiting
Recruit high-quality student-athletes through on-campus outreach and off-campus recruiting events.
Manage recruiting databases to track and evaluate prospects.
Assist with scheduling and coordinating campus visits for prospective student-athletes recruit visits.
Attend recruiting events and evaluate prospective student-athletes.
Administrative
Assist the Head Coach with coordinating and managing game day operations and administrative tasks.
Help plan and organize team travel and meals.
Attend and participate in departmental meetings as required.
Support institutional service initiatives as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Head Coach.
Adhere to NCAA, conference, departmental, and university policies, procedures, and expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the football program and athletic department.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
Minimum 3 years of experience in football coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or equivalent level.
Commitment to student-athlete welfare, academic success, and adherence to NCAA, SIAC, University System of Georgia and Albany State University policies and procedures.
Valid driver's license is required.
Experience at the collegiate level.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Knowledge and understanding of sound offense, defense and special teams.
Knowledge and understanding of how to create a winning culture, habits, traits, teamwork.
Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rules and regulations.
Skilled in public speaking.
Skilled in combining and creating multiple methods of learning to meet the needs of student athletes.
Skilled in recruitment techniques.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to develop plans to achieve a shared vision for success.
Ability to provide timely and accurate information as requested by stakeholders.
