You are:

• A strong leaders with excellent verbal, written communication, and motivational skills
• Able to teach and demonstrate the skills and strategies of the sport in an independent manner

You will:

• Use independent judgment and discretion, instruct, educate, and train student-athletes so they are properly prepared for competition. Maintain appropriate boundaries as outlined by the Head Coach per school regulations
• Educate athletes on safety rules and regulations specific to their sport to ensure compliance with NCAA and conference guidelines
• Train, encourage and motivate student-athletes and understand role and responsibilities
• Manage various issues with student-athletes in an effective and professional manner
• Instruct and demonstrate proper game techniques, strategies, and use of equipment
• Work closely with the Head Coach to evaluate the strengths and weakness of student-athletes and then develop programs and techniques to help optimize their skill and performance
• Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions using sound motor learning principles and sport specific techniques in preparing student-athletes to compete at maximum levels. Ensure timely Submission of all compliance related tasks though Arms
• Identify, monitor, and recruit quality student-athletes that will be an asset to the University’s athletic program
• Use a variety of technology resources, assist the Head Coach in the scouting of opposing teams and the development of scouting reports that are precise, accurate and easily communicated
• Use technology and statistics, keep accurate records of players’ progress as related to performance in games and practices and keep weekly practice outcomes
• Organize and confirm team travel needs such as transportation, accommodations, and meals as required
• Fiscal-Stay within the budget allocations and submit in a timely manner
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

You need:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Previous playing and/or coaching experience in the sport preferred
• Maintain up to date certification-First Aid/CPR/AED
• Ability to teach and demonstrate the skills and strategies of the sport in an independent manner.
• Must possess a demonstrated ability to successfully coach at the Division I level.
• Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to work long hours/weekends
• Ability to lift and/or move equipment required for the sport
