Position Details
The Athletic Department at the University of Tampa has a full-time position available for an Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball who will be responsible for a Division II Men's Basketball Program. This position reports to the Men's Head Basketball Coach.
Responsibilities
1. Assist with the administration and management of the men’s basketball program.
2. Recruit and assist in all aspects of evaluating, identifying, and recruiting students to The University of Tampa Men's Basketball Program, in accordance with NCAA regulations and academic standards of the University of Tampa.
3. On court coaching and directing student athletes at practice and games for development of individual and team skills.
4. Support team travel planning and team fundraising.
5. Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, including study halls, advising, and helping with social issues.
6. Oversee equipment inventory and assist in ordering.
7. Oversee event/game management to include court setup/take down for all home games.
8. Scout and prepare game plans for opponents.
9. Comply with all NCAA, conference, university, and athletic department rules and regulations.
10. Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards, consistent with the college’s mission, vision, and values.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
3. Knowledge of men’s basketball rules.
4. Ability to manage a group of student athletes and command their respect.
5. Commitment to high academic and professional standards.
6. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
7. Ability to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
