Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Head Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach should have a working knowledge of all Southern Conference and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations and adhere to these policies as they pertain to the job.

Job Description:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing our post players in development in season and off season

• Advance scouting on the offensive side of the ball

• On campus recruiting/coordinator of portal recruiting

• Overall video operations – synergy, sports code and Just Play software

• Playbook and Terminology book oversight (digital and hard bound)

• Analytics and Stats oversight – offensive side

• Responsible for developing analytic reports.

• Responsible for helping foster an environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of the student-athletes.

• Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Southern Conference, institutional and departmental rules.

• Assures all fiscal activities are conducted in compliance with Federal, State, Conference, Institutional and NCAA laws and regulations including PCI compliance, cash handling policies, proper business transactions, and the maintenance of the highest level of confidence in regards to the various confidential information that the staff is exposed to in regards to financial data.

• Establish and maintain effective interactions with the university community, alumni, media and the public.

• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Relationships :

Continuous contact with team players to influence, motivate or persuade parties to obtain desired results.

Daily contact with members of own work unit, immediate supervisor, members of other department, and other coaches to plan, coordinate, problem solve, present information, and make suggestions related to mutual goals.

Frequent contact with potential recruits to influence, motivate or persuade parties to obtain desired results.

Occasional contact with alumni, parents and community to exchange factual information and explanation of rules, regulations, practices or functions.

Responsibility for Final Decisions :

Tasks involve multiple procedures with interrelated processes or steps. Work involves choosing the appropriate option or procedure to follow and applying established rules and procedures.

Errors are readily detected in the normal course of work by standard check or crosscheck. Causes little difficulty or loss of time to correct.

Reports To : Head Basketball Coach.

Work is performed independently on routine work, non-routine issues or questions are referred to supervisor.

Education/Skill Requirements :

Bachelors Degree with 1-2 years experience in related field.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Recruitment experience.

Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Motivation skills.

Work Conditions:

Work is performed under usual office or athletic facility conditions requiring basic safety precautions.

• Frequent evening and weekend work.

• Frequent travel.
