The Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach, under the direction of the head coach, teaches and provides instruction in the sport of men's lacrosse and assists in the planning, promotion, and administration of a quality Division I men's lacrosse program.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities for the Assistant Coach for Men’s Lacrosse include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assisting in all aspects of planning practice and game plans and implementation of plans during practice and games
• Assisting with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, including the identification and evaluation of prospects and applicable prospect follow-up
• Assisting in the academic, sports performance, and compliance aspects of the program
• Assisting in the promotion of the men’s lacrosse and overall athletics program with the university's student, faculty/staff, alumni, and external community
• Providing coordination for team related community service activities, PAWS (student-athletes advisory council), and assigned departmental activities/initiatives
• Assisting with the design, ordering, and disbursement of equipment
• Assisting in the implementation and coordination of men's lacrosse camps, clinics, and events
• Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules
• Performing other duties as assigned by the head coach

The work hours for this position include evenings and weekends based on game schedules. Travel is required.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to train and recruit at the Division I collegiate level
• Ability to accept and carry out assigned program and responsibilities
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community
• Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
• A demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically
• A demonstrated commitment to building a positive team culture, and commitment to personal and professional development of student-athletes
• Ability to work collaboratively within the structure and framework of an athletics department and university

Preferred Qualification:

• Successful lacrosse coaching experience at the high school, professional, or collegiate level  

Salary and Benefits 

$20.00 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
