Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, the assistant Soccer coach will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics and be responsible for administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate athletics experience for student- athletes in the sport of Soccer.

Job Description:

The assistant Soccer coach at Fort Lewis College, a NCAA Division II institution in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, is responsible for assisting with all aspects of an athletically competitive Men's Soccer program, including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting with organization and conducting skill instructions, practice, academic advising, and training schedules;
  • Effectively manage relationships with student-athletes, coaches, athletics administration, athletics trainers and the broader campus community;
  • Assist with all aspects of recruitment and evaluation of prospective student- athletes;
  • Provide appropriate leadership in practice and competitive environments;
  • Ensure a quality student-athlete experience through community engagement, campus involvement and competitive achievement;
  • Assist with monitoring of academic standing of student-athletes;
  • Establish positive relationships with support staff;
  • Assist with scheduling and organization of Soccer camps and clinics;
  • Represent the Soccer program at specific college, department, alumni, media and community events
