The purpose of this position is to provide coaching expertise and leadership for the administration of the intercollegiate athletics program. Assist the head coach in the effective management and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student athletes.
Assist with the implementation of a successful recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes. Assist in the organization and supervision of practices and contests.
Coordinate and implement proper administration of financial aid for prospective and enrolled student athletes.
Represent the University at professional meetings, alumni gatherings, campus activities and civic affairs as requested by the head coach.
Maintain standards of performance consistent with departmental academic and athletic expectation as reflected in the mission statement, goals, objectives, departmental guidelines, and performance appraisal procedures.
Coordinate all aspects of the program with the rules, regulation, and procedures of the conference, the
NCAA
, the department al policy manual and the University.
Coordinate team travel to include transportation, lodging and meals.
Coordinate and implement all eligibility requirements, compliance rules, and regulations.
Coordinate and implement facilities scheduling and contest administration as well as game operations as necessary.
Communicate regularly and maintain a positive working relationship with the University departments to assist in implementation of an efficient program and department.
Engage in fund-raising activities for the program in conjunction with the head coach.
Encourage an effective outreach program with student-athletes that provide benefit to the on and off campus community.
Maintain appropriate, effective relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program and others towards the positive image and promotion of the program.
Remain in full compliance with the
NCAA
, University, and the
GSC
rules and regulations.
Attend and participate in department and staff meetings as requested/required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the head coach.
Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. There will be other duties as assigned. The individual holding this position will serve as a representative of the University and, as such, shall promote a positive impression by demonstrating a collegial and professional customer-service approach at all times.
• Manage student-athletes on a personal level.
• Develop and grow student-athletes as people and soccer players.
• Discipline student-athletes when necessary.
• Maintain field; install lining for games and match fields.
• Inventory and manage equipment, including replacing old/damaged equipment when needed as approved by the head coach.
• Coordinate and implement effective video recordings of games and other occasions; including video editing and sharing as a teaching tool.
Knowledge of basic principles of coaching/team supervision;
Ability to effectively coordinate recruiting activities;
Ability to maintain team discipline and instill proper ethical and moral standards;
Ability to understand and implement complex soccer specific strategies to individuals and the entire team;
Understanding of digital filming and editing equipment;
The educational requirement for this position is: Bachelor’s degree
