Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Ski Coach to join our dynamic athletics program! As part of the Wolf Pack Athletics family, you won’t just be coaching a sport—you’ll be mentoring future leaders, representing a proud Division I program, and working in one of the most scenic regions in the country, surrounded by world-class ski terrain.

As our Assistant Ski Coach, you’ll play a vital role in the development and success of our student-athletes—on and off the slopes. You’ll have the unique opportunity to work and train in the stunning Lake Tahoe area—one of the world’s premier skiing destinations. Beyond the slopes, you’ll make a lasting impact by supporting student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence in competition, in the classroom, and in life. This position will assist the Head Coach in in coaching the athletes as well as planning, organization, and administration of all facets of the ski program. This is a hands-on coaching position where you’ll be deeply involved in:

  • Technical Training & Performance Coaching: Teach skiing fundamentals, refine techniques, video analysis, and implement sport-specific training programs including conditioning, strength, and agility.

  • Student-Athlete Development: Mentor athletes on their academic, athletic, and personal journeys—helping them grow into their full potential.

  • Recruitment & Retention: Scout and recruit top talent who embody the spirit of the Wolf Pack, and build relationships to ensure student-athletes thrive here.

  • Team Operations & Leadership: Support program logistics and travel, budgeting, communicate practice and travel schedules to athletes through Teamworks, and compliance with NCAA and conference regulations.

  • Community Engagement: Represent the Pack in outreach, fundraising, and promotional events—both on campus and in the community.
