The successful applicant will be responsible for creating and coordinating the strength and conditioning programs for sports assigned by the head strength & conditioning coach. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining a safe and effective work environment, communicating with sport coaches as well as sports medicine staff regarding physical training issues and injury limitations of student-athletes; other athletic strength & conditioning duties as assigned. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science (or related field),
CSCC
and/or
CSCS
certification,
USAW
certification, and
CPR
/
AED
; minimum of one year prior experience in training both male and female collegiate athletes. Applicants must have experience in all forms of strength training with special emphasis on Olympic weightlifting, flexibility, agility, speed and conditioning, and possess a thorough knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations. Applicants should already possess a general knowledge surrounding writing & implementing strength & conditioning programs. Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays required.
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a criminal background check as mandated by Tennessee State University.
