Assistant Coach, Volleyball

(Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Assistant Coach of Volleyball assists the Head Coach in all aspects of program development, including player skill instruction, team strategy, and fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and academic achievement. This role is critical in preparing student-athletes for high-level collegiate competition while supporting their personal growth and academic success. Responsibilities include conducting effective practices, scouting and recruiting top talent, building relationships with prospects and coaches, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and RMAC regulations. Additionally, the Assistant Coach assists with program logistics, including travel coordination, equipment management, and alumni engagement, all while upholding the values and philosophy of the University’s athletic program.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist each team member in reaching their athletic potential, in a manner consistent with the Head Coach philosophy and expectations.
  • Teach each team member proper techniques, strategies, and skills that foster growth, development of potential and opportunities to achieve success.
  • Support the Head Coach in developing a strong sense of team within the Program, the Department and the University.
  • Assist in organized and productive practice sessions.
  • Prepare team members for high levels of collegiate competition.
  • Support the academic and future occupational goals of each team member.
