Job Description

As the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, you will serve in a dynamic, multifaceted role supporting all aspects of the program. You will collaborate closely with the Sport Performance Team to monitor student-athlete health, ensure safe participation, and communicate effectively with the Head Coach. Your oversight will extend to athlete travel and conduct, promoting academic success, community engagement, and professional representation of the University of Alaska Anchorage. On the court, you will assist with coaching, scouting, practice planning, game strategy, and performance analysis, ensuring compliance with NCAA and GNAC regulations while helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court.

To thrive in this role, you must combine a strong foundation of coaching experience with excellent communication, leadership, and recruiting skills. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of NCAA regulations, a commitment to student-athlete development, and alignment with the program’s core values. Building trust and collaboration with players, staff, and the wider university community is essential, as is contributing to the program's growth through effective fundraising and mentoring. Ultimately, your ability to support the head coach’s vision while fostering a positive, competitive team culture will define your impact.

Minimum Qualifications:
