The Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach position will assist the head coach in various aspects of the Women’s Basketball program including, but not limited to recruiting, practice planning, on-court instruction, scouting, academics, and student athlete relations. They will recruit student-athletes that fit the program’s needs as well as the university’s academic standards. This individual is responsible for ensuring the Women’s Basketball program is compliant with
NCAA
, conference and university rules and regulations. Individual will assist with the promotion of the team as well as the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Leadership and Management
:
Interpersonal relations with staff, student-athletes, other coaches, support staff, media, faculty, administration, supporters, and the community are vital to the success of these programs.
Anticipates needs of program, works with support staff and members of Omaha Athletics to ensure execution of responsibilities.
Strategy and Planning
:
Bring strategy and plan to assist team in winning a Summit League Championship and graduate student-athletes.
Work with assigned position group to develop skills on and off the court.
Create game and practice edits to give feedback and guide future instruction.
Create and maintain recruiting ties within the Midwest and Internationally.
Management
Oversee player development for the individual players and team both on and off the court.
Assist in administering facets of the program, such as overseeing academics, organizing practices, individual workouts, scouting and recruiting.
Instruct student athletes in the sport during practice, individual skill instruction, and film analysis under the direction of the Head Coach.
Prepare for competition with video and statistical analysis and give feedback during competition.
Exemplary communication skills with staff, student-athletes, administration, media, faculty, and the community. Demonstrated ability to recruit, knowledge to instruct, motivate and coach student-athletes. Possess the vision of what a quality Division 1 Women’s Basketball Program should look like and possess the inner drive to bring it to reality.
