Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach, the Assistant Coach assists in developing a Division I competitive Women’s Soccer program. The primary function of the Assistant Coach will be to teach student-athletes the sport of Women’s Soccer. The Assistant Coach will evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to Temple University; whose athletic skills would allow the program to be highly competitive, and whose academic abilities make such student-athletes excellent candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from Temple University.
The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program set forth by the Head Coach which includes, but is not limited to: creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating and controlling aspects relative to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, volunteer coaches and related booster clubs. The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department and the sport both on and off the field of competition. The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach is expected to be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policy governing their sport as well as NCAA and conference policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. Evidence of the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach's knowledge of rules and policy will be in the Departmental expectation that the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach successfully complete the annually administered NCAA Coaches Exam.
The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education& Experience:
*Bachelor's degree
*At least two years of previous soccer experience as a collegiate coach and/or collegiate student athlete.
*Experience administering Division I NCAA rules.
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred :
*NCAA Division I experience.
*Demonstrated experience developing and allocating abudget.
*Demonstrated experience fundraising towards theachievement of program goals.
Required skills and abilities
*Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
*Ability to assist with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment.
*Ability to implement policies and guidelines for all Women’s Soccer personnel and student-athletes.
*Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
*Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
*Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
*Must be able to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.
*Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
*Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
