Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball, the Assistant Coach of Women’s Volleyball plays a critical role in supporting the overall success of the NCAA Division II Volleyball program at Regis University. This role supports all aspects of program operations including coaching, recruitment, student-athlete development, and administrative duties, while maintaining a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes in alignment with the University’s mission and the Jesuit value of cura personalis—care for the whole person.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes and will possess the communication skills necessary to build collaborative working relationships within the Athletic Department, with departments across campus, and with members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in the sports program.

Assist with planning content and organization of the overall program. (All offenses, defenses, fundamentals and techniques, game strategies, and knowledge of all aspects of the sport.)
Assist the Head Coach with film review. Record and upload RMAC matches in compliance to conference rules

Assist the Head Coach with film review. Record and upload RMAC matches in compliance to conference rules
Support the Head Coach in staying informed of current trends and developments in the sport and assist with the implementation of best practices to enhance program effectiveness. May attend RMAC and NCAA meetings with Head Coach.
Create an atmosphere of compliance:
Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing of the NCAA, the RMAC and the Regis Athletic Department.
Track all CARA hours and submit to compliance officer.
Supervise and ensure that any assistants and volunteers comply with policies, rules and regulations.
Recruitment and Retention
Actively recruit academically and athletically talented student-athletes in accordance with the philosophy of Regis University and in strict adherence to University, NCAA and Conference regulations.
Assist head coach with developing scouting reports
Continually strive to enhance the image of the Regis University Athletics Department and its programs through inter-personal contacts with parents, visitors, university faculty/staff, and community citizens. and through participation in Athletic Department and University sponsored events.
Monitor Student-Athlete’s academic performance: Responsible for monitoring the academic success of the student-athletes in her/his program. Each coach should work cooperatively with Regis University faculty to support their student-athletes’ path to graduation.
Administrative Duties
Monitor and balance the team budgets
Budget for and requisition required goods and services including supplies, equipment, apparel, team travel, and recruiting
Track and submit monthly financial reports
Update and track all social media outlets for the volleyball program. Monitor all social media from the student-athletes, managers, and staff of the volleyball program.
Maintain facilities and equipment
Coordinate on-campus summer volleyball camps including hiring coaches, working directly with housing and event services, managing registration, running demonstrations, and assisting with customer service.
Supervise Graduate Assistants, student employees and temps/independent contractors: Assist the Head Coach in supervising and developing GAs. Hire and monitor hours for all student employees, line judges, and scorekeepers.
Assist with promoting and organizing service projects for the team, as well as encouraging participation in Athletic Department sponsored service projects. Track the completion of required hours of community service for the team.
Fundraising for the Program and Athletic Department
Fully participate in both program and department fundraising activities, events, and campaigns.
Direct and attend fundraising tournaments.
Working conditions are indoors. Work will require weekend and/or evening hours. Some local, regional, national, and/or international travel is required. Please note that hours worked may vary weekly to accommodate practice, game, and travel schedules. Flexibility in availability is essential to meet the demands of this role.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
1-3 years of coaching experience
The ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
NCAA experience
Experience with Teamworks/ARMS software
Experience with recruiting software
Experience in using Data Volley statistic and video scouting software Knowledge of any of the following: HD video recording and uploading, Apple Products, Adobe Products, Office Products, Video editing software
