Position Summary The Assistant Cycling Coach plays a key role in supporting the development, recruitment, and competitive success of the collegiate cycling program. This position assists with coaching student-athletes, coordinating team travel, recruiting prospective students, and fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and Christian leadership. The ideal candidate will possess competitive cycling experience, strong organizational skills, and a passion for mentoring young adults both on and off the bike.

Minimum Qualifications: Required Qualifications • Competitive cycling racing experience with demonstrated knowledge of training and race strategy. • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability and willingness to travel extensively during the competitive season. • Experience recruiting, mentoring, coaching, or working with student-athletes preferred. • Valid driver's license and ability to operate team vehicles when required. • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Christian higher education institution. Physical Requirements • Ability to ride and demonstrate cycling skills when necessary. • Ability to lift and transport bicycles, equipment, and race support materials. • Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during competition periods. The Assistant Cycling Coach is expected to contribute positively to the mission of the institution while helping student-athletes pursue excellence in competition, academics, leadership, and faith.

Preferred Qualifications: • Collegiate cycling experience as an athlete and/or coach. • USA Cycling coaching certification or willingness to obtain certification. • Experience with training software, performance analysis tools, and athlete monitoring platforms. • Event management and travel coordination experience.

Responsibilities: Coaching & Athlete Development • Assist in planning and conducting team practices, workouts, and race preparation. • Provide technical instruction, race strategy guidance, and performance feedback to student-athletes. • Support athlete development in mountain bike, gravel, cyclocross, and other cycling disciplines as applicable. • Promote a safe training environment and encourage healthy lifestyle habits. Recruiting • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who align with the institution's academic, athletic, and Christian mission. • Build relationships with high school coaches, club teams, cycling organizations, and prospective students. • Assist with recruiting visits, communications, and follow-up throughout the admissions process. Team Operations & Travel • Coordinate and assist with team travel arrangements, including transportation, lodging, meals, and race logistics. • Drive the team to competitions, training camps, and recruiting events as required. • Help manage equipment, race support, and event preparation. Student-Athlete Mentorship • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes. • Support the academic, personal, and spiritual growth of team members. • Foster a team culture characterized by accountability, sportsmanship, servant leadership, and Christian values. Administrative Support • Assist with scheduling, budgeting, communications, and program operations. • Support fundraising, community engagement, and program promotion initiatives. • Maintain compliance with institutional, conference, and governing body policies.
