Assistant Director for Student Engagement & Programming
The Assistant Director for Student Engagement & Programming has a vital role within the organization, reporting to the Sr. Associate AD for Student Engagement & Special Projects. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of recruiting and operational functions for the Pathway to Sports Academy program. Additionally, the Assistant Director for Student Engagement & Programming will contribute to department-wide student-athlete programming, ensuring efficient development and fostering growth within the Department of Athletics.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Collaborate with the Senior Associate AD to develop comprehensive recruiting and programming plans for the Pathway to Sports Academy, aligning with organizational objectives and targets.
Assist in organizing and conducting informational sessions, webinars, and workshops to educate prospective students and their families about the program offerings and requirements.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Collaborate with the Senior Associate AD to develop comprehensive recruiting and programming plans for the Pathway to Sports Academy, aligning with organizational objectives and targets.
Assist in organizing and conducting informational sessions, webinars, and workshops to educate prospective students and their families about the program offerings and requirements.
Coordinate logistics for recruiting events, such as campus visits, off campus recruiting events, informational sessions, and virtual meetings, ensuring seamless execution and positive experiences for attendees.
Utilize recruitment software and databases to track prospect interactions, maintain accurate records, and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the overall recruitment process and identify opportunities for student engagement and enrichment activities for current students in the program.
Serve as a liaison between pathway students, pathway supervisors, academic coordinators, and campus partners to ensure holistic support and alignment of services.
Maintain accurate records and data related to student participation, program outcomes, and other relevant metrics.
Assist in the planning and execution of various student-development programs, workshops, and events aimed at fostering personal, academic, and career growth through the program.
Work closely with Pathway to Sports Academy students to provide guidance, mentorship, and resources to support their overall development and success.
Collaborate with athletics and campus departmental staff to integrate student-development efforts into broader organizational initiatives and goals.
Stay current on best practices, trends, and research in recruiting, student-development, athletics, and higher education to inform programmatic efforts.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate AD for Student Engagement & Special Projects.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
Must be able to work effectively with students and families of diverse ethnic, educational, and cultural backgrounds in addition to faculty, coaches, and administrators within the rules and regulations of The University of Tulsa, American Athletic Conference, and
NCAA
.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute programs and events effectively.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with diverse populations.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Special Job Dimensions:
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for recruiting and programming events.
Equivalent Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required in an appropriate discipline
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in either recruitment, student development, operations, athletics administration, or related area
Preferred Experience
Master’s degree preferred
Standard office environment.
