Context of the Job:
The Assistant Director, Marketing and Licensing at the University of Delaware is a valued member within the University and Delaware Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation (DACCR), upholding and embracing the department mission of Achieving Excellence Together. The Marketing and Engagement team endeavors to connect and inspire the Delaware Athletics and Campus Recreation community through engagement initiatives, creative content and event experiences with a focus on a deep understanding of the University of Delaware brand and its traditions.
Under the general direction of the Assistant Athletic Director, Marketing and Licensing the Assistant Director, Marketing and Licensing executes a wide variety of broadly based marketing, licensing, and promotional activities for Delaware Athletics, Community and Campus Recreation (inclusive of the UD Ice Arenas and Outdoor Pool). Additionally, this position assists with marketing efforts for the Bob Carpenter Center external events, experiences and attendance of University of Delaware faculty/staff and students at athletic events and successfully prepositions/enhances the Delaware brand. Successful execution of this role will result in increased revenue and support for Blue Hens Athletics teams, improved overall attendance at events, increased usage of recreation facilities, and development of school spirit.

Qualifications - Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience; degree in Sports Management, Recreation Administration, or related field preferred. - Strong organizational and analytical skills to develop, evaluate, and advance strategic plans aligned with the Athletic Departments mission. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage diverse patrons professionally while upholding NCAA and University compliance standards. - Sound judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately within the Athletic Department. - Proven leadership in driving team goals related to fan experience and revenue growth across Marketing & Engagement functions. - Adaptable and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and commitment to a positive workplace culture. - Strong dedication to enhancing the student experience. Skilled in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting evolving deadlines. - Ability to maintain discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality when leading staff and engaging with high-level donors and public figures. - Highly collaborative, with the ability to navigate complex, networked environments. - Familiarity with Twitter, Facebook Insights, HTML Eloqua, and Photoshop preferred.
