Minimum Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in athletic communications, media relations, or sports information at the collegiate level.
• Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of StatCrew, NCAA Live Stats, and other statistical software.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Experience in graphic design, video editing, and photography within an athletics setting.
• Knowledge of website management systems (e.g., SIDEARM Sports, WordPress, or similar CMS platforms).
Job Duties
Serve as the primary Sports Information Director (SID) for assigned sports, handling all media relations, press releases, statistics, and game-day operations.
Coordinate and manage social media content for assigned sports, working closely with creative services to enhance digital engagement.
Oversee game day operations, including stat crew coordination, press box management, and postgame media availability.
Nominate and promote student-athletes for conference and national awards.
Complies with all University and CAA regulations, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University and CAA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations and participation in the annual NCAA continuing education programs including passing the NCAA certification test, if applicable. Any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited.
